The Laboratory for Forensics, Biometrics and Privacy (LFBP) is a specialized research unit within the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics. The Laboratory was established with the goal of providing long-term strategic development and infrastructure to support scientific research in the fields of biometrics, privacy, and computer forensics.
The Laboratory offers dedicated office and lab space, computer equipment, and specialized biometric devices. Its facilities are available to individuals and institutions interested in research, education, and practical applications of biometrics, digital privacy, and computer forensics. Users include university staff and students, companies, public institutions, and research organizations developing or applying biometric technologies, digital security solutions, and forensic tools.
LFBP serves as a hub for innovation, training, and knowledge sharing by organizing seminars, workshops, and educational programs in its focus areas.
We continuously design, develop, and maintain research infrastructure in biometrics, security, privacy, and digital forensics. This includes upgrading laboratory facilities and technological resources to meet the needs of researchers.
The Laboratory actively prepares and leads research and development projects in collaboration with funding institutions and industry partners. We manage project teams and resources to ensure the successful delivery of research outcomes.
We organize specialized seminars, courses, and workshops to introduce participants to the latest advances in the field. The Laboratory also develops curriculum content and training materials for lifelong learning in biometrics, security, privacy, and digital forensics.
Our researchers carry out fundamental and applied research aligned with the Laboratory’s mission. The research results are regularly published in respected scientific journals and presented at scientific and professional international conferences.
We partner with companies and organizations involved in the design, implementation, and development of biometric systems, privacy technologies, and forensic tools, which often results in joint innovation projects and technology transfer.
LFBP collaborates with domestic and international research institutions on joint projects, co-authored publications, and knowledge exchange. This strengthens the impact of our research and supports the achievement of shared scientific goals.
