Cybersecurity is the foundation of safe, trustworthy digital systems. At the Center for Forensics, Biometrics and Privacy (CFBP), our cybersecurity research focuses on protecting information systems, critical infrastructures, and digital identities from threats and vulnerabilities.
We combine academic rigor with real-world application, developing tools, frameworks, and methodologies that empower organizations and individuals to defend against cyber risks — while promoting a culture of security and resilience.
Research Focus
Our cybersecurity work covers both technical and organizational aspects of digital security, spanning risk assessment, secure system design, and human factors.
Key areas of focus include: Threat modeling and risk analysis Awareness training and social engineering defense Vulnerability management and compliance frameworks Incident response and cyber resilience strategies Cybersecurity in e-government and smart systems NIS2, ISO/IEC 27001 and other regulatory compliance domains

Teaching and Student Involvement
Cybersecurity is deeply integrated into CFBP’s curriculum and extracurricular activities.
